“Wuthering Heights” by Emily Brontë is a novel filled with passion and torment that has left an indelible mark on English literature. First published in 1847, the work transports us to the desolate moors of Yorkshire, to a world dominated by strong emotions, such as love and revenge. In this writing, we will focus on two significant extracts: “Back to Wuthering Heights” and “The Eternal Rocks Beneath”. Through the in-depth analysis of these passages, we will explore the strengths and weaknesses of the work, emphasizing the features that have made “Wuthering Heights” a milestone in Romantic literature.
“Wuthering Heights” is a novel that challenges the conventions of its time, presenting complex characters and a plot wrapped in a dark atmosphere. The author created a bold and provocative work, which has caused intense reactions and controversy since the time of its publication. The story revolves around Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, two charming and tormented characters, whose relationship is marked by uncontrollable passion and tragic events. ” Wuthering Heights” explores universal themes such as love, identity, revenge and the struggle between social classes, offering a fascinating representation of the human soul and its darkest impulses.
Let’s get ready to immerse ourselves in the deep emotions and the dark events that characterize “Wuthering Heights”, exploring the greatness of this extraordinary literary work.

Positive aspects
Wuthering Heights is a classic novel with many positive aspects. One of them is the atmospheric setting, which is in the Yorkshire moors. It contributes to its dark and gothic atmosphere, so that the readers can identify themselves in the story.
Another aspect could be the narrative structure, because the use of multiple narrators and flashbacks adds depth and complexity to the storytelling, by increasing interest among the readers.
To add, the exploration of each character’s personality contributes to the different qualities of humanity, so it could be interesting for the readers to compare their personality to that of the characters.

Negative Aspects
Even if Wuthering Heights” by Emily Brontë is a masterpiece of English literature, it also has some negative aspects. Some people may find the plot complex and obscure, with characters often acting in implausible or morally questionable ways. In addition, the central theme of love passion can be interpreted as obsessive and harmful, especially in the relations between Heathcliff and Catherine. Some critics have also raised concerns about the representation of women and their roles in society at the time, suggesting that it could be seen as limited or stereotypical.

All things considered we would say this book can be referred to as an “evergreen”. Even if it was written many years ago it is a book suitable for everyone, apart from children of course, because it deals with lots of intricate themes.
The story can feel very catchy from the beginning but we dearly recommend reading it in your native language to appreciate it in its whole. If you are into dramatic love confessions and family drama, this book has been made just for you, you won’t regret reading it!
